Mad,
Not sure who is making the TI modem nor whether it is a DSP (processor) chip based adsl modem, or a plug-in card. Non the less, it is highly likely to be TI dsp processor based (maybe even somewhat specialized) adsl modem.

Even though WSTL will be moving toward more s/w features in their modems, this still TI based product, assuming it is chip based and not plug-in-card based canabalizes potential sales.
