Atmel held up well in a down market. Only a small handful of semis didn't go down today.

I'm seriously questioning all the negative press lately.

To wit, why would the semi cycle be anywhere near over when the Internet is still growing, Win 2000 just came out, and the handheld explosion is just starting? Not to mention, the move to next-generation cell phones.

The news which has been running seems so fake. Just wait until the first few semi companies report earnings later this week.

It is possible that the market is predicting some kind of horrible surprise with Motorola. Even if there were something bad coming, it would seem it is already factored in at the current prices. And then, what happens if Motorola is back on track?????
