JS - Aren't there any funds or institutions holding the shares?

Best regards,

So, I'm thinking that this stock won't spend too much time at the bottom.

Very much agree with your good analysis.

>> So, who is going to support the stock? Who will buy, and keep buying, to create a firm bottom?

Qualcomm's profile on Yahoo shows reasonably high institutional ownership, as you would expect in an s&p500 stock.

Insider: 9%
Institutional: 41% (45% of float)
(1,264 institutions)
Net Inst. Buying: 28.5M shares (+8.66%)
(prior quarter to latest quarter)

While I appreciate that retail investors have a big impact on day to day valuations, I wonder if our votes count for much in the longer term.

Jacob:

A very cogent analysis of the situation with Q*. Being a member of your first group (began to purchase in '96), I still haven't sold a share of this stock. That will change this fall not because I want to but because the law says I must. Much of my Q* happens to be in my SEP/IRA from which I must withdraw the minimum annually (because I am on the far side of 70). Unfortunately, for withdrawal purposes the value of my portfolio on 12/31 reigns. C'mon everyone in group 2 or 3, buy! (Before the end of the year.)
