Nope; DSL plus ISP costs $40/mo. around here. Whether you get that from Pac Smell (SBC) or another party as I do, you still pay extra for your POTS line. I do think there's a golden opportunity for someone smart to start offering voice-over-IP as part of their package, but I haven't seen that. As for SBC as the new AOL, I believe you are 100% correct. I'm not saying they won't rake in cash on this deal; I'm saying you, the consumer, likely don't want to be on the business end of that rake. -mb
