Thanks Georgeb for the info on earnings calendars. This site's quotes.barchart.com technical analysis page screams "sell" as far as LUCY is concerned. I guess that is why it can't get above $61 a share these days...ANON

Georgeb...you said back on Tuesday, July 11, that earnings were going to be announced on Monday, July 17...that's today! You even posted a couple of links to Internet sites that said Lucent would announce today. That's the reason I reduced my holdings on Friday. The majority of LU that I hold is within a stock fund inside my 401K and I can't trade within the trading day. I get the price at the end of the day...that's the way the fund works. I'm not trading as a self directed IRA would, therefore, I have to "guess" what might happen the following day...if I think it will drop the following day I have to make the decision the day before and therefore catch the value the day before. Not an easy thing to predict, especially these days with so much volatility and such. I wanted to get out the day before they announced because in the past couple of announcements, even when they beat the STREET a year ago by 6 cents, there has been a "sell on the news" affect on the day of the announcement or the next day at the latest. I wanted to avoid that. Now, if what you post is true, I see I may have jumped the gun and lost a considerable amount of money if they don't announce today. There was someone else on here about two weeks ago or more that said earnings would be announced on Wednesday, July 19 but then others said he was wrong. Actually I had heard awhile back before that guy said the 19th that earning would be on the 20th. How can one really find out the truth?.......ANON
