It is reflected in implied volatility of the options and option premiums. I always laugh when people say one issue is more speculative. Your chances of a stock going up are 50/50, every stock, every day. You are right about direction, magnitude of each move is another story. There is something to historical volatility, and it's relation to future volatility. Otherwise, people would not use it to evaluate their portfolios, or price derivatives. Joe
