Rande, sale of any large U.S. telco to a foreign company might give big case of heartburn to some people in Congress. As I recall in the past week or two, a few people on Capitol Hill wrote to either the FCC or FTC to warn against such a sale. Sorry don't have links or exact info.

However, whatever it was that I read does not make me optimistic about some of these telecom merger ideas.

Also, I have a sneaking suspicion WCOM and FON aren't finished yet with each other. Nothing solid there, just little references here and there in the media to those two companies seeking clarification from the feds about what is permissible and heard a radio news report this a.m. which did NOT put that merger idea in the past tense.

By the way, I'm also interested in EBAY....will get a lot more interested if it gets down to 39-40 area.
