Jean,

I am wondering if the european companies will do everything in their power, even do an end-run around the law if necessary, to not pay the Q anything...

The corollary about that is exactly why I want to own shares of companies such as Qualcomm. If their product isn't compelling and if their power over their marketplace isn't daunting, there would be no reason for competitors to go to such extremes to play hardball and spread the FUD. That the competitors amd potential customers are in a position that they have no other reasonable alternative is the best possible indication of Qualcomm's potential other than dramatically increasing revenue.

Remember, Qualcomm's is a disruptive innovation. It's competitors are on the wrong end of the disruption and it leaves them in a very uncomfortable position that requires extreme reaction up until the very last moment before they agree to adopt Qualcomm's product in mass.
