sector, if you look at the fact the "last mile" is in its build-out infancy stages, the ability of Zaffire to intelligently manage the fiber optic lines b/w long-haul and last mile access is just being recognized. the possibilities in that area are astounding. while i do certainly understand a LOT of money is being thrown around by VC's in this area, the inclusion of Banc America, Seligman, KPCB, Morgan Stanley, Oppenheimer Funds, Pilgrim Baxter, etc., speaks volumes.

I agree with you sector investor(BTW I slept in my Tshirt again last night) OT- FWIW my latest investment in the optical field is the purchase of shares in an insurance company LDP, which you are probably aware of. What you may or may not know is that LDP I believe owns around 8% of NUFO which has been skyrocketing of late. As of my last calculation it's ownership stake was worth around $540MM, while its market cap was around $850MM. I think there is quite a bit of value in LPD's other investments as well as its core business-insurance , annuities, money management, venture capital. so if any of you like NUFO this might be a cheaper and safer way to buy into it though probably not as big a bang for your buck. Caveat- LDP's structure is weird. Its based in the channel islands I believe. OTOH some have valued it as being worth around $37 prior to the NUFO runup. So I like my chances of making some money here.
