The hairdresser should be proud she sold before it split!! Its dropped, roughly 65-75% since it split! You sound like you bought before the split, and you are bragging that you held on! Now, the hairdresser can get back in, and if it goes back up, she will make twice as much money, assuming it goes back up. I commend her for selling before the split...she didn't know the future, but neither do you! You don't know Qualcomm is going back up, you don't! Look today, it's priced at the same price(roughly within 5%) of when the split was announced! You shouldn't mock other people for selling.....

LONG 300 SHARES AT 70(and I wish I wasn't)!

Nothing is stopping them, or anyone else, from buying Qcom back whenever they see an uptrend. In fact, we could buy back 3-4 times the shares we had (or maybe a little less if taxes are involved) had we sold at 800 (200 post split) and wanted to buy back now.
