My tax: The Asshole Tax. It works like this. Every quarter you write down the name of the biggest jerk you know. The votes are counted and the lower 50th percentile pays the tax. This way, those that cause the most social strain pay the most in taxes. Ex-wives/husbands don't count in the voting or their effect is otherwise offset. Everyone gets 2 people whose vote will not count against them (like the standard deduction). If you have special circumstances that warrant assholic behavior you are allowed to itemize them. It may not be much simpler, but I think it would result in a much happier world.
