"An average cost basis of 40 (as opposed to 60) would make a huge difference in my longterm returns."

Jacob -

Although I see Spring 2001 as the time for Q to bloom, there are possible news releases that would ramp it 50% on any day (regardless your analysis, with which I am basically in accord), so my strategy is to add small lots every 5 points down. (Q is now about 50% of my account.)

By January 2003, I see QCOM at full Gorilla status, with a corresponding stock price roughly quadruple your target. With my perspective, buying at 40 versus 50 is irrelevant.

At 40, I will literally pee my pants as I fill my remaining pockets with shares.

regards and luck,
