Status report.
Since being here last I have run the app that restores IE to the previous state. Guess that would be 5.0 or perhaps 4.0 Turns out that this loses Outlook Express so reinstalled the update to IE5.01SR. Note that the update function works before IE 5.01 is installed.
System File Checker found one file it didn't like. I copied one from WINDOWS\VCM and seem to be ok.
Version conflict manager. There is a difference with some files but don't understand what to do so left it alone.
In the tools section one program said that IE was missing rsapi32.dll imghelp.dll and msaahtml.dll. Should I have a concern?
Trying tonight to use the Windows Update function. Won't work. One error was kernal32.dll and another was the wuv3is.dll that was a problem earlier.
Thanks for your help
