zhi peng,

AMD's sales during the 2nd quarter is said to have crossed 1.5 billion so u can think of the profits from
operations. This is from informed sources close to top managment.

I will remain skeptical about this. My entry to epscontest.com is fairly bullish $1.28 billion. $1.5 billion is within the realm of possibilities, but probablilty of that is very low.

The only possible way it could have happened if high percentage of the Athlon processors were 900 MHz to 1 GHz, and if they were sold close to the list price.

Joe

Re: sales crossed 1.5 billion

WOW! THAT IS MASSIVE!

NICEGUY IS A PESSIMIST!

WE ARE LOOKING AT EARNINGS WELL OVER $2.00!

...and we are getting excited about random rumors from "informed sources" again.

And why not? If we can't get a bit excited prior to earnings then why do we bother?

(I may go down but I will go down in flames :^)

Comment: I'd love it were it true (outside chance if $230 is way low for AMD Athys ASP and if $450 is closer to the mark)...and some thought I was being optimistic at $1.31 billion...

re: sales > 1.5B. Technically, they're right if you count sale of COMM division at $350M.
