Daug,

How low do you think the ASP on 1GHz Athlons was over the quarter? I see little incentive to cut deals, given Intel's lack of volume... and 200K sounds like a reasonable # given the Mercury data from early in the quarter.

I think $700 to $750 over the whole quarter would be more reasonable to expect. Maybe $1,000 at the introduction, and below $700 at the end of the quarter, when the highest volumes were shipped.

I have more problems believing the $400 ASP for non-1GHz athlons, although, if the bulk was in 900/950... who knows...

As I said, I think they mixed in the entire k6 revenue ($250M) in the non 1GHz Athlon category. Without it, it would be 2M Athlon with revenue of 550M, or ASP of $275. Even that seems high.

I don't give the 1.5B # much credence... but it's fun nonetheless.

Agreed.

Joe

YOU HAVE A GOOD SOURCE
My sources confirm your source here in the USA.
Also I heared that the June sales were through the roof, and that AMD goals , which were much higher than the Analyst's was met and exceeded.
Also I heared that Flash memory was above expectations.
we should have a solid quarter also next Q, in which Durons and Tbirds will NOT be counted together.
AMD expects to enter the business market in August.
Both Gateway and Compaq are selling AMD very well, and are making good money with AMD products. They are both expected to offer High End Business AMD lines
very soon

I think that the market is waiting for news, any news such as a large company introducing the Durons.
Motherboard availability.

the earnings will be the catalyst that will break 100, and the long awaited split announcement will hold AMD above 110
so I hope you are all well invested, we might not get another buying opportunity.
(That last opportunity almost got me a heart attack...)
