As the steep increase in rmbs' stock price has rewarded long term loyals, this whole episode proves that it is possible to push flawed (IMO) technology into the masses and be successful in the stock market.

Some engineers who had a chance to look at their own preliminary performance tests on the 815 and the 820 in an sdr133 and drdram-800 comparison repeatedly warned that drdram was slower, yet they all emerged looking stupid when hitachi settled, and the rmbs loyals were 'vindicated' in the only way that mattered : they made money.

Which shows once again that just having the basic knowledge to judge a technology in the field does not mean you will make money. If one believes in conspiracy theories :: Even if anyone knew that intel engineers have done the same tests months ago and not released the results doesn't mean that shorting rmbs is a sure thing unless you timed it right.

I think rmbs will be one of the most interesting stories about high tech stocks for many years to come. It certainly made me consider the flaws in my own biases for not buying rmbs when it was 'cheap' just because the technology was flaky.

Enough mumblings. Back to boring DD.

Scumbria: <<DRDRAM appears to be fading away for the current PC lineup.>>

There you go again...Gateway, Dell, even CPQ These equate fading away?

Looks like you're back to a 13 step "transparency rehab" program..
