gottfried, a ringing endorsement, for certain. however, not wishing to spend the $$$, i decided to use mspaint. your good advice to take pictures of email settings was what put me onto this. i did partial screen captures (just the active windows) of all my messenger email settings (16 pics in all) and saved them and printed each one. nothing like being prepared! now when i see how norton av rearranges all my preferences, i'll know exactly how to put everything back if need be. btw, the key to sending only the active window to clipboard is to hold down the 'alt' as you press 'print screen'. :) mark
