Salt Lake City firm sued

CANTON - The Illinois Attorney General has sued a Salt Lake City company for more than $500,000 in fines and costs from cleaning up a massive tire dump in downtown Canton.

On July 6, the Illinois Pollution Control Board ordered CyberAmerica Corp. to pay the state $326,000, the cost of removing 6,042 tons of used tires illegally stored inside the old International Harvester plant. CyberAmerica has yet to pay anything, Tom Davis, the attorney general's environmental bureau chief, said Wednesday.
