Shhhh! I was hoping if we ignored it, it would go away.

Ya know, there are sooooo many large consortiums with vested interests in incremental improvements to their existing empires, it's hard to imagine there being enough independent, unencumbered critical mass to get REAL broadband.

Utilities may really be the best hope since they have no legacy data networks to coddle, yet they have the rights of way.

Frank You may want to look at recent announcements by Conexant and Cisco toward the same end.
