This is the downside of being blonde. Those of us who have been doomed to live our lives as brunettes derive some small satisfaction. My natural hair is so dark that even bleached beyond anything resembling hair, it's still not really what anyone would call blonde, even charitably.

I spent the evening in the National Archives looking for records on my Chippewa great-grandmother. She probably belonged to the Turtle Mountain tribe, that is, by definition, NOT blonde.
