Steve,

Regarding the Lexar Media registration statement...

I feel happy that my discussion with the IR people at Simple Technology lead to the removal of their name from Lexar's list of relabellers. See this older post...

Message 12919248

As I have mentioned earlier it would appear that others in the industry are avoiding Lexar like the plague...

Message 13369885

The question comes up as to what controller Lexar is using in their MemoryStick product and whether they plan to indemnify Sony as well if this is the same controller in question currently in the SanDisk litigation.

SanDisk...the plot thickens.

Re: It's not over till it's over. I predict there will be no trial. If there is and Lexar doesn't prevail, there will be treble damages. If they settle out of court, SNDK can get what it wants -- better controller technology, royalties, etc., without affecting demand for its own products, since demand greatly exceeds supply at this point.

So, as far as I am concerned, it IS over. SNDK wins hands down. The stock performance today suggests a growing realization that SNDK is going to succeed, together with the fact that the economy is NOT on the verge of recession, inflation, or other catastrophe. As I've heard somewhere before, sort of, "it's not the economy, stupid," it's the patents.

This stock will double in two to three months, with the single qualifier that the market for tech stocks remains relatively healthy, IMHO. I've seen this before (QUALCOMM, March, 1999).
