I expected growth in page views to drop due to seasonality, but not down to 9%. In the same quarter last year, I think the drop was only down to the high teens. Why should seasonality have a greater impact this year vis-a-vis last year? TK didn't say in the conference call, and I haven't seen an explanation elsewhere either.

I justify holding yahoo because, even with its lofty valuation, I still don't think the market has fully digested the explosive growth opportunities that the network effect implies. If this quarter's slowing page growth is just an aberration due to seasonality, then I'm not concerned -- but I would appreciate it if someone could give me a likely answer as to why seasonality had a greater impact this year than last year.

If, however, the "law of large numbers" is 'already' having an impact, then at Yahoo's present valuation we're in trouble. Even with its price halved, I still don't think the stock has factored in a slowdown in page view growth.

here's another question for the board: if there is a slow down in page view growth, what sort of lag time should be expected in terms of its impact on revenue growth? is this quarter's slowdown going to show up in next quarter's top line numbers?
