Keeping your head still is the one mechanical part of putting that works for everyone, maybe the only one, IMHO. I've seen very strange methods of putting that were very successful, and seen folks with perfect form and stroke that couldn't putt into a bushel basket.

One of the better putters I know, if you stood behind him on a straight putt, you would say he was perfectly lined up 3-4 feet right of the hole. I still can't figure out how the damn ball goes towards the hole, but it does, and usually drops. [EDIT: when you ask him, ne doesn't know he isn't lined up towards the hole.]
