About 25 years ago, our boy scout encampment of 40+ had a 10-day base camp at a lake in the Sierra Nevadas. A pesky black bear began visiting our camp on the second evening and each evening he grew more bold in his maruading behavior. On the 5th or 6th day we purposely left out about 10 pounds of prunes and the bear never returned.
