Hi Barb; Ah....I guess I made a leap that with the fundamental tenets of Libertarianism (at least as I understand it), that there should be no government interference in victimless issues, that you would not want government involvement...... So, in effect, you are proposing a change from government involvement in criminalizing street drug use, to government regulation and control of the sale and use of drugs........The laws that Charley talked about in another post could indeed be rolled back...but they would have to be replaced with another set of laws at least as intrusive in peoples lives....in other words, the government is still involved.

Do you think that the number of addicts, or the amount of drug related crimes on innocent victims of society as a result of legalization would be less?? I believe the number of addicts would grow...and those addicts, driven by their addiction, would further decay the fabric of society by crimes to support their habits....if the government is involved, do you not think the drugs will be taxed...therefore not cheap....ah, another way to grow government.
