Ltd…. For example, a deal with Swedish telecommunications giant Ericsson to create Bluetooth RFICs (radio freq. Int. circuits) has, for the first time, given Chartered Semiconductor a central role in the development of a new technology and market category. The companies are jointly developing Bluetooth IC designs and an RF-CMOS process to manufacture them. At the same time, Chartered is building a fab for Bluetooth chip production, with Ericsson -- the main financier -- getting the first crack at wafers coming off the line. ….ebnonline.com Jim
