ALERT!! . . . . Market is in rally mode. . . [to overstate the obvious]

Playing with about a 1 week expected time frame. . .looking for a sharp peak near the end of next week. . . . . .with brief selloff to dampen joy beginning end of next week or beginning of following week. . . playing fairly loose and free between here and there. . .then re-evaluating. . .Again, not looking for the REAL rally to begin until end of Aug. Peaks expected to occur at different times for various stocks and sectors. . . play smart. . . don't expect too much. . .from any single trade. . . far too many plays these days. . . not like .com days when there were only a few dozen big names. . . now there are literally hundreds of winning plays diluting the possibilities.

Signs of rally being underway:

Advance/Decline line has been positive nearly 2 weeks.

Nasdaq Composite just passed where it started year.

Cyclicals sustained a 2 day rally

Finally signs of follow through in various sectors.

Russell 2000 strong this week, though lagging today.

Nasdaq volume nearly a billion already.

Internets once again leading the charge. . . but this time with earnings instead of hype.

Rally is broadening out as it goes.

NYSE strong A/D, volume and price

Very few fears on the horizon keeping confidence high. . .those that try to instill them are now getting laughed at. . . evidenced by the overnight retraction by a brokerage of negative market words by an analyst. . . don't remember details.

Strong earnings expected from many industry leaders.

Expecting splits galore . . .which is the helium to many balloons.

Finally. . . . nothing left to be a DRAG on the markets.

. . . . . .

Please remember this!! We buy up the lows on many stocks when nobody wants them FOR THE PURPOSE of selling them into the buying frenzy that occurs in such rallies. Be careful not to get sucked in by some the high fliers that have already seen the lions share of their moves. . . or the hype by the brokerages which serve as investment bankers on recent IPOs, etc. And do not be afraid to PROFIT OFTEN and sell into the buying. . . even if it is by fractional positioning. . .[1/4 positions at a time, etc.]

It is the fear of selling too soon and the greed of missing a big move that leads to the biggest losses and regrets.

Would you look at PALM. I bought July 25's at 5 1/2, sold for 8 1/8, and then watched PALM fall back to 29. Should have bought them back.;-)
