Hi Jim; Obviously I am disillusioned with the two major parties..and would like a return to what the founders intended....because of that I am disappointed that drug legalization has even a minor plank, let alone the major one that it apparently does, in the objectives of the LP....surely there are many who see the erosion of everyday liberties and the intrusion of big government who would respond to an advocacy of concrete proposals to rid America of the layers and layers of government that mandate the most trivial details and stifle enterprise. If the LP would articulate those issues (and leave the drug question alone) they would attract more adherents, perhaps in time an electable majority..........then, if a viable case for legalization of street drugs could be articulated, along with a system of controls that would not cause the average citizen to have fear that an even worse condition would result..that position too might win a majority of approval...as stated now...the release of drug prisoners back to society and legal drug use causes a visceral reaction that is very negative to that proposal.
