The S&P and JDS. Not an unlikely occurence. The 'lady in waiting' is nothing for shorts to fool with.

Curtis, I think they could have used the rumors of a JDSU addition to the S and P as a reason not to do as the article implies---you never know. Now people are thinking an addition is out of the question until after the SDLI deal.
Hmmmm.... now would be a good time to add it as most don't expect it.<g>

I guess that article explains why the Nasdaq100 outperforms the S and P 500. They have a bunch of people who don't understand the markets making decisions on additions. I think the Nasdaq 100 (and QQQ)will probably gain more and more acceptance as a benchmark. Seens lots of new mutual funds linked to the Nasdaq100. I think JDSU is actually overweighted on the Nas100, even more than its market cap.

I still have my list of possible additions to the S and P 500. The ones that will have the best gains upon addition are the ones that are not even in the S and P midcap 400.
