Judge Agrees to Hear Clinton Disbarment Case

On Tuesday, Pulaski County Circuit Judge Leon Johnson called the clerk's office of the court and said he would accept the case.

Johnson is the fifth judge asked to hear the Clinton disbarment case, after four others refused because of their ties to the former state attorney general and governor.

The Arkansas Supreme Court's Committee on Professional Conduct sued to disbar Clinton on June 30, charging the president with telling lies in his testimony relating to his relationship with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

Clinton has said that his lawyers will fight for the case, but he himself will not get involved personally. He has 30 days to respond.

Sources said that any decision Johnson makes is likely to be appealed to the Arkansas Supreme Court and a final decision might come after Clinton and the judge have left office.
