I find it difficult to believe that is taught with district approval. In fact I find that impossible to believe. That would be occasion for disciplinary action in our district. I cannot believe your "friends" daughter was taught this with the approval of the district.

I even find it almost impossible to believe you had a rogue teacher doing something so inappropriate.

. Ten year old girls are now being taught how to masterbate in some of our schools.

I had heard this story mentioned before. I find it truly bizarre for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that some teacher would think that this technique needs to be *taught*. Based on your experience with this incident, do you have any insight on why a teacher might think these girls wouldn't figure this out by themselves?

Vince,

And the parents accepted this as part of the approved curriculum? Where was this? I find it surprising that parents wouldn't react very strongly to this and take action. And if not, why didn't they?
That would be grounds for dismissal here. Our schools are very careful to send home permission slips with an explanation of anything- ANYthing - that is either sexual or violent in content. As a parent I have gone to the school to view or read materials before I decide on my child's involvement. And the school always offers alternative activities for a child who is not permitted to participate.

this is the silliest thing I ever heard.
If you've ever sat in a story hour with three year olds- they are already very advanced in the technique!! Both boys and girls sit there listening and rubbing themselves. It's really very funny.

Master--
It just dawned on me that there's an implication in your post of a connection between the teaching of masturbation in schools and the lack of prayer.
I agree with you about some of the curriculum topics in our schools being questionable, though I certainly haven't seen ANYthing like you described nor have I read about it. (And one would have thought it would be a hot topic here in the Bible Belt!) But I definitely don't see it being part of a cause-effect relationship with religion in the schools and see these as totally separate issues.
Just wanted to be clear !
