Well said Jim....I guess I am missing the point of why the drug war is the principal cause of the erosion of freedoms..I see that erosion in many other areas of citizenship, and wonder why the LP focuses on a "seedy" segment of society, rather than the intrusive government actions in legitimate, everyday, lives.

No, I don't have any easy solution to the present drug problem....one would hope that education would help...one would hope that legal penalties would help...that the threat of incarceration would help...I guess I feel like we should keep doing what we are doing and try to contain the plague......I reject the extremes exhibited across the world by governments at both ends...the liberal policy of Holland and the brutal repression of some states..where possessors are shot.......we are at some middle ground, and I guess I am most comfortable there in terms of policy.

I appreciate the discussions that all have exchanged with me...I do not have a comfortable fit with any political party at the present time, but I will vote Republican again as the lesser of evils.....

Regards to All

Bud
