possibly some negative surprise is lurking. might be PPI/CPI (as unlikely as that sounds with those BLS statistics rapists), or an upcoming negative earnings surprise. we have a big cycle turn date scheduled for July 16, which coincides with PPI...and the commercials are still net short a record number of spoos, with the small traders accounting for the biggest net long position. it would be a surprise to see the small traders on the right side of this trade.
