Warning: Stay away from stocks with the following symptoms. It is very hazardous for your wealth.
(1) The trashy company hired an accountant who was charged by SEC in violation of Securities Law.
(2) The trashy company hired a counsel who was found guilty in participating a pump and dump scheme.
(3) The trashy company hired notorious pseudo-analysts to promote its stock without disclosing the amount of compensations.
(4) The trashy company significantly revised its revenues and earnings without any apologies or explanations.
(5) The trashy company exchanged its own shares with related parties, so it could shift the capital-raising activities into investment activities. Therefore, the additional paid-in capital became realized and unrealized gain of marketable securities.
(6) The trashy company was shameless to brag about its super growth from a 65% downward revision of earnings and revenues. Especially it has used the misleading and false figures to entice the gullible investors to buy its stock.
(7) The trashy company portrayed itself as a profitable Internet holding company while all its net businesses were losing their shirts.
(8) The trashy company bragged itself as a leading Internet technology holding company while 85% to 90% of the revenues and 100% of earnings were from a daytrading seminar subsidiary.
(9) The trashy company repeatedly used EBITDA to confuse the naïve investors.
(10) The trashy company exaggerated or lied the financial figures through its press releases.
(11) The trashy company spun off a trashy subsidiary, reduced the holding to be less than 20% so it could use the cost method of accounting and then used the phantom market value of the trashy spin-off to adjust its earnings.
