I know a lot of Perl programmers. I don't know one that uses ActiveStates Win32 Perl re-implimentation. It's not Perl with Windows extentions. It falls a bit short of a full implimentation of Perl. --- Again, I would assume the other 're-implimentations' to have a similar story. --- It's all a big .WAD of the same ol same ol from Microsoft. --- Many developers are disappointed that they can't use Java to write Windows only aps? Oh!! Well, this will be perfect for them! -JCJ

Why don't all those disappointed coders just go ahead and write in Java, but include code to check what O/S they're running on and abort if it's not Windows? I think they can put in whatever extensions they like, as long as they follow the rules (e.g. give them Windows-specific names rather than trying to pollute the base classes).

JMHO.
