Ken, There is nothing in that article other than this paragraph. The Wall Street Journal reported this morning that Lucent [LU] is considering spinning off its microelectronics business. This is in keeping with our assertion that Lucent would have to radically change its operational profile to keep pace with JDS Uniphase [JDSU], Nortel Networks [NT], and Cisco [CSCO] in the fiber-optic arena. This balances out any negativity we had about the high price the company paid for Chromatis, and we maintain our buy rating on Lucent. The last sentence says it all. -Nat
