>NEW YORK, July 13 (Reuters) - Sunrise Telecom Inc. <SRTI.O> on Thursday soared about 155 percent after the company, which produces equipment to verify telecommunications and Internet networks, began trading on the Nasdaq.

The stock traded at 38-1/2 on the Nasdaq, up 23-1/2 from its higher-than-expected offering price. Sunrise's stock ranked as the among the largest percentage gainers on the tech-loaded Nasdaq, tussling for first place with another initial public offering called Triton Network Systems Inc. <TNSI.O>.

Sunrise priced well above its expected range at $15 per share on Wednesday, exceeding the anticipated $11-$13 range for its initial public offering.

The San Jose-based company raised $60 million by selling 4 million shares. Sunrise, which makes portable test equipment for the telecommunications industry, worked with underwriter Chase H&Q.
