I think this intalia is a new competitor too. Its a hot space, there is tons of competition out there I know. Well, I don't know who will win this race, however in my area webmethods seems to have mindshare. The wildcard is netfish and their partnership with Oracle (or investment, whatever) - if Oracle buys netfish then that would be a powerful match. I have been looking at the new VSPs (vertical service providers), these are corio and some others - kind of superportals I guess you'd say, and out of 4 that I talked to all 4 had purchased webmethods in the last 4 months. Most had not implemented it yet, which means there is the risk that it was oversold. However my sense is that the real opportunity is in the adapter layer to the ERPs and active had a reputation for being best at that. Vitr is obviously worth a ton of $$, do you have experience with them? I think adapters are a pretty sticky business and I know suppliers only want to support one flavor, which would not really mean that only one player would dominate except that these VSP trading exchanges which need to talk to multiple suppliers. That means everybody has to have the same servers on both sides of the chain like i2 - and since these guys are choosing webm thats my rationale. I'm trying to find the player with the most oem deals - netfish just got something big with jdec I do know that. I usually talk to myself on this thread so please share your thoughts!
