You and Cheryl must be two of the twenty-forty (enjineers) SUNW sent to E-BAY to try and fix their screwed-up servers...ended up giving the serevers away to save face and blamed all the down time on e-bay////twenty plus smart guys to come up with shit...come on JC your better than that,,,NOT..You and Cheryl..what a combo. even though you're not reading this jc, others on the thread are. i went home and saw that, yes, one of the 4 o'reilly books i have for perl does say 'unix programming.' on the other hand, i'm not aware of any code in there which doesn't work with activestate's windows implementation of perl. so you've been beaten down in a rational debate and now you have to insult my mother. i'll let your postings stand for themselves, except that i will close by saying, it is telling that 'people' such as yourself can come onto a thread like this and get old ex-msfties such as myself - someone who otherwise fairly loathes msft - to rise to their defense. i take it you never did post those code snippets 'which don't work,' because there are none. andy
