Scumbria,

I agree that if/when Intel has a major fiasco re Willy, it will add legitimacy to AMD. However - in the long run, I feel that fp_scientist hit the nail on the head. Consistent, (somewhat predictable) earnings are the key. Regardless if the company is admired or not, consistent, sustained earnings will gain attention and respect, IMHO~

Cheers,
JohnD

Scumbria,

re: Willy fiasco

Sure could well happen.

A 6 month willy delay would be a disaster for Intel.

A 6 month delay on mustang would not be such a huge deal for AMD.

I like AMD's odds.

regards,

Kash

Scumbria,

You wrote "I think Intel will rush Willy to market, and there is a 50/50 chance that some major problem will show up after the intro"

Agreed. Rushing engineering generally is a very ill advised thing to do. It generally doesn't stop management from doing it.
