Thanks for the explanation on ECNs and regional exchanges.

I guess I am missing something here, because I wasn't kidding, if I am guaranteed to get $73.50 for my Paine Webber shares and I can buy the stock at any less than $73.50 tomorrow, the difference between $73.50 and the amount I bought the shares at would be a guaranteed profit.
How could the stock open at a lesser amount? Why would anyone sell for less?
