The big turn for civil rights had its beginnings with the Supreme Court and Eisenhower Administration.

My point is that "Civil Rights Laws" never had to be enacted if the Constitution and Bill of Rights were just applied to all Americans uniformly. The same is true of gays today. There is no such thing as "gay rights" just equal protection under the Constitution. If the government would just enforce the Constitutional rights of every individual we would need none of this nonsense.
