Paulie:

Wasn't so long ago, your "Intel is the leader" comments were focused on the PWeeiii...Now that AMD has put the PWeeiii in check at all price poijnts and more with its "spry Athy", your "Intel is the leader" comments seem more and more centred on the server niche, the only remaining segment where Intel can claim, at the moment anyway, a superior lineup of products...If all it took for the Athy to "tip over" PWeeiii was 1 year, I wonder just how long the server marketplace, Intel's last foothold of superiority, will remain closed to AMD...Not much sacred Intel terrain left, imho!

Paul !!!!

I guess IBM doesn't believe it's canceled !!!!

At least not the 256K L2 cache version !!!

I scanned the article and it is not clear if it is the Cascades version or Coppermine version of Xeon. It seems that it is the Coppermine version, or otherwise, they would have included the L2 size. On the other hand, the price is high enough to provide the budget for the Cascades version.
