Paul, >The first in its class to hold four of Intel Corp.'s latest 800MHz Pentium III Xeon processors in a 7-inch frame, the Netfinity 6000R is a good buy for IT managers looking for a highly available, space-saving server for Web-hosting or e-business applications.

This is weird. Intel canceled release of the 800 MHz Cascades processor last week. Customers said it didn't provide enough increase over the 700 MHz one to warrant a new speed bump server development. Now IBM announces what looks like an 800 MHz Cascades based server. Did IBM get an exclusive to buy all that were made anyway? The new one looks like Cascades because the current IBM 6000R has 700 MHz 2 MB Xeons, which are definitely Cascades. Also, the pricing is close, implying the hefty big cache Xeon in the new 6000R.

Someone have time to ask IBM?
