You're probably right about EBITDA vs EPS. But due to the complexity of the goodwill, an understanding of EBITDA might shed important light on the core operations much like an understanding of gross margins and operating margins provides insights that net margins alone don't always provide.

What is Gemstar's new name? Are they going under TV Guide? I ask this because my online brokerage (Brown) is no longer listing it (or they are listing it today as ?GMST). Do you know what the new symbol will be?
