I don't think ABX is evil and I am proud to own its shares. ABX is a smart hedger. ABX did not create the Gold Bear, Richard. ABX recognized that the fundamentals for Gold were bearish ( strong dollar and equity market) so they hedged. If and when the fundamentals clearly turn in gold's favor, which they are in the process of doing, ABX will cover almost all of their hedges. As I said, ABX seems to know the gold market better than most people on this thread, including me.

I like doing financial ratios (arbitrage)
I continue to plot the NEM/ABX ratio.
goldsheet.simplenet.com

Historically, NEM looks cheap when its share price is equal to or less than ABX.
The ratio peaked on May 4th at 1.50, and NEM has been heading down relative to ABX since.
The current ratio is 1.11, therfore NEM is starting to look cheap
