I am not sure how much of a threat SCMR represents. There have been several articles on WWW.lightreading.com related to SCMR including an interview with the CEO. They are O-e-O like CIEN and William (a sharehold...of everyone but CIEN it seems) likes the flexibility of their software provisioning system (BroadLeaf). With Sirroco, SCMR bought into the access market but I am sure it will take a while to integrate the various systems. I also have to wonder about how well their system inter-ops with legacy system. They have a creative staff and some good products so they will at least keep Cien in an innovating mood.
