Hope AMD will be able to get this technology on their chip to reduce existing latencies with their on-chip L1 and L2 caches.

The latency problem with the T-Bird cache is not due to SRAM speed. It has more to do with the width of the datapath, and other conservative parameters in their cache algorithms.
