albert, thanks for your comments on Good Will and Nexgen BV. Another error I made is implying that it is impossible to have taxes in a quarterly report before all tax credits have been burned. I also forgot that AMD may be reporting taxes this quarter and in Q3,Q4, just so that 2001 tax rate will be lowered and the "Y2001 EPS < Y2000 EPS problem" will disappear. IOW, pay more taxes now, less later. (We're talking about reported taxes, not real taxes.)

<I think AMD needs to sell Nexgen and k6/k7 designs together with it in order to claim any gain or loss.>

K7 wasn't from Nexgen, but I keep wondering whether selling K6 design to VIA might make sense. If AMD got, say, 40% of VIA's stock, we might be able to keep VIA from falling under Intel's control and improve their chipset performance.
