Generally the market seems to go against sentiment. How many times in the past did everyone finally become bearish only to see the market soar and also the reverse to happen? Since everyone expects it, will it happen or, will it happen later when everyone is expecting a rally? As Arsenio used to say, things that make you go "Hmmm" Not trying to stir up anything, just some thoughts, Comments?>> Joel, Oh believe you me, I have thought the exact same things. Thats one of the reasons I am such a basket case<ggg>. If you read a post a made recently I gave good arguments both for and against the summer meltdown. On one hand, as V said, it's not like we are at 5500 on the naz. We are still waaaaay down from the highs. On the other, history almost dictates we have some form of correction. The more "info age" we get, the easier it is for things like this to happen. Lets face it, more and more people are connected, info changes hands quicker then ever, and we, as individuals are far more in control then ever before. I have several accounts. I am always fiddling around in my mind as to what i wouldlike to do with my account(s) at my full service broker, but for the most part I do nothing. I mean that requires picking up the phone, talking to my broker and bla, bla, bla.....but with my online accounts, it's boom, boom, boom. Well, I think more people then ever now have online accounts and more people then ever are going boom, boom, boom. There are alot of fingers sitting on that sell button looking to sell at any chance of a correction. So, what the hell actually happens? I have no idea. At the least, a bunch of headfakes and good buying opp's, at the most, a severe downfall with Naz testing or breaking 3000. I am trying to startegize the best I can. No, or very little margin usage, holding leaps and beaten down quality. if it's bloated...it's gone. I wont sell qcom leaps, or cmgi, as they are still very beaten down, and in fact I wouldlike to buy more....but anything bloated...at it's high for the year, no matter how sexy, how strong she looks, is gone. Anyway, I am as lost as lost could be and really have no clue as to what the next 2 months bring. Best, keith@lostinmindbodyandsoul.com
